During the past 30 years, Interop has traced the arc of information technology, from the beginnings of the modern data center and networking to the cloud computing standards businesses use today. The next 30 years of IT is here, thanks to the internet of things (IoT). InformationWeek Executive Editor Curtis Franklin spoke with Senior Editor Sara Peters about how IoT is changing everything we know in IT, especially in the industrial enterprise. From predictive analytics, to security, to ROI, here's why the next 30 years of IT starts with IoT.

Industrial IoT and the Star Trek computer
How wonderful to see two great editors together, Curt Franklin and Sara Peters, discussing the past, present, and future of IT and the Industrial IoT. Super nice. :)

Yes, I also believe the Star Trek computer is very close. I also believe it will be Apple the one bringing it to reality. Apple computers already communicate with the user. The next step is to make that communication going from the user to the computer.

As I was listening to the beginning of Interop 30 years ago I was wondering if there is any footage from those days. It would be nice to see a compilation of past Interops.
