'Digital Transformation': What's So New About It?

Mobility, data, the Internet Of Things, cloud computing. These are the terms that IT hears again and again. In fact, there's a term for what all these mean for business and IT: "Digital Transformation." However, what's new about it? At this year's Interop conference, Prashanth Shenoy, Cisco's senior director for enterprise networks and mobility, explained how these technologies are now mature enough to really affect business and begin the transformation that we're heard so much about.

Re: Digital Transformation
Indeed. It was very nice to see Sara again.   This was a very infomation packed interview to be sure but what I found particuliarly interesting was the subject of Data Analyst for retailers.

I have seen Cisco move strongly to provdie SBC's options in this area and kudos to them for doing so.

Digital Transformation
Sara Peters with her lovely interviews are back! :) Or, I had lost sight of her. In any case, brilliant interview with Cisco. He touches every aspect involved in the current digital transformation most businesses --if not all-- are embracing, or trying to embrace today.

Only one element I believe it was missing, and that is social business which together with mobility, data/analytics, cloud computing are truly revolutionizing the enterprise.

As for security, I wonder if some companies have developed a strategy to realize they were hacked in less than three months as he says. Any idea?
